Ivy’s Bookshop is another wonderful place near Carlton House that our residents have always loved to visit. Located just down the street on Oak Bay Avenue, Ivy’s Bookshop has been Oak Bay’s neighbourhood bookshop for over 50 years.
Residents love perusing the unique and eclectic selection of books, magazines, and greeting cards that Ivy’s Bookshop offers while chatting with the helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Ivy Mickelson opened Ivy’s Bookshop in 1964, where it soon became a cornerstone of Victoria’s literary scene in the 60’s and 70’s. Several notable authors have visited the bookshop over the years, including Margaret Atwood, Robertson Davies, Farley Mowat and John Mortimer. With such a long and rich history, it’s easy to see why our residents and others in Oak Bay and the surrounding neighbourhoods are drawn to the local bookshop.
