In early 2020, there was much uncertainty around how COVID-19 would affect our lives. The Carlton House of Oak Bay owners, board members, and management team have stayed vigilant on keeping up to date with the latest information and adapting our policies as news evolves.
COVID-19 changed our policies beyond simply advancing our already diligent sanitizing protocols and wearing masks, it pushed us to be even more supportive to our amazing community of residents.
In order to keep germs out of our building, we have limited visitor policies and entrance policies at our front door. Each person who enters the building must fill out documentation stating they have not travelled and are symptom free, as well as have their temperature read and recorded.
Beyond the necessary protocols as recommend by Dr. Bonnie Henry, our team has gone above and beyond to best meet the needs of our residents.
We have purchased a Mercedes Passenger van in order to offer our residents their own private and safe form of transportation when travelling to or from medical appointments.
We now happily offer personal shopping with no cost to you. Our team can pick up just about anything you could possibly need and safely sanitize it and deliver it to your door. We also offer an in-house convenience store with all the basic essentials. We can stock items at your request.
We have also implemented a new Wellness Program to fulfill the needs of residents throughout these stressful times. Retirement living is all about leading as stress free of a life as possible, and that is what the Wellness Program aims to accomplish.
All in all, we have braved the COVID-19 storm and continue to be a stronger community from it. We are grateful to be a local, family owned business during these tough times which has allowed us the flexibility to stay agile and meet the needs of our residents to the best of our abilities.
Thank you to our amazing residents, our team of staff, and the greater Oak Bay and Victoria community for keeping us all safe.
