While we’re not able to enjoy our usual summer events and outings here at Carlton House, we are still doing our best to keep our residents busy and entertained! Carlton House has been facilitating social and physical activities in a safe manner so our residents can still enjoy each other’s company at a safe distance while staying fit and active.
For instance, we have modified our exercise classes to be held in our courtyard where we can safely maintain physical distancing.
We also had some special entertainment on Canada Day in our Courtyard. We were treated to a very unique performance of music and dancing… by a Tesla Model X! View the video here.
We held a social distanced “Margaritaville” night on July 10th as well, where we enjoyed the songs of Jimmy Buffet and others performed by local musician Norm Smith.
Additionally, we recently had accordion player Ron Sera put on a lovely afternoon courtyard concert for our residents. View the video here.
And after all the dancing and exercise, our residents are able to enjoy an afternoon treat with our mobile ice cream bar.
Now and again we’ll have a furry friend stop by to assist up with the clean up by licking the bowls clean!
Despite the changes to our lives and normal routines, and all of the uncertainty that still surrounds us these unprecedented times, we are so lucky to have this incredibly positive and cheerful community of residents who have proven to be so amazingly resilient through it all.
We hope everyone is able to find some joy and connection in these challenging times, and we wish you all a safe and healthy summer!
