The Oak Bay Annual Car Show What a location…what a spectacular array of cars!
It was like a giant festival, with cars as the theme… great weather, and a wonderful atmosphere. And, Carlton House is right on the doorstep of it all. Even though we at Carlton House are all about people, the cars were enjoyed by many residents who reminisced about their bygone days and the cars they had - alphas, jags, and other exotics.
Oak Bay Avenue is a perfect place as a backdrop to this event. The Avenue has a decidedly European flair. Cars included antique rarities that are much enjoyed and sought after by aficionados. Intermingled with English and European cars were teens, twenties, thirties, forties, and 50’s American cars as well as muscle cars of the 60s and 70s; with a few more recent, exotic ones adorning the area as well.
The Avenue was closed to hold the event which enabled people to freely roam the generally “walkable” community. It was a warm day and people who passed by were able to get a free lemonade from Carlton House. Our management and staff, along with willing volunteers, added support in making this a very enjoyable and memorable event.
